Goliathites is a cardioceratid genus (Ammonitida) with a range that extends from the upper middle Jurassic to the middle upper Jurassic, (Callovian to lower Kimeridgian). The genotype, Goliathiceras (Goliathites) capax (Young and Bird 1822), is from the Upper Jurassic Oxfordian Corallian Oolite Formation of North Yorkshire, England. The shell is smooth, moderately expanding, involute with small umbilcus. [1]
