The Gigantuar is a boss in the Advance and subsequent versions of Final Fantasy VI. It is a giant Cactuar that appears randomly in the desert outside Maranda once the party has spoken to a man in Maranda about the "Giant Cactuar" and then defeated ten or more Cactuars in the desert. Gigantuar will be encountered like a regular battle when the party steps on a specific tile of the desert. The Gigantuar is based on the Final Fantasy VIII boss Jumbo Cactuar.
