Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Jardine was a Conservative Party politician. During World War Two Jardine was promoted from the ranks with an emergency commission to become an officer in the Royal Engineers. Following the war he returned to civilian life, but remained in the army's Supplementary Reserve, reaching the rank of lieutenant-colonel. He was awarded the MBE in the 1978 Birthday Honours, at which time he was chairman of the Hammersmith, Hounslow and Richmond War Pensions Committee.
