Paromomycin is an antibiotic, related to the same class of antibiotics as streptomycin. It is commonly used to treat cryptosporidium, amoebiasis and leishmaniasis. It can either be injected into a muscle, or taken orally. It works by binding to certain types of RNA to prevent bacteria from forming key proteins.
