Lise Eizenga began her career as a lawyer. Although never elected to the Senate, she became known in 2691 at the Labour Party Convention. She ran against David Levy for Party Treasurer but was defeated in a surprisingly close result. She won 38% to Levy's 52%. Eizenga became better known within the party after she was defeated in her bid for party secretary by 0.6%. A year later, she won the party leadership on the fourth ballot. Following her resignation, she resumed her law practice until her death.
