Gendler was a member of David Palmer's cabinet during Day 2. When Jim Prescott organised a secret cabinet meeting, he personally called Gendler and gave him personal invitation to the meeting. Gendler did not know what the meeting was about, but one of his staff members passed on the information to Lynne Kresge. ("2:00am-3:00am") The cabinet met later and voted to remove David Palmer from office under the 25th Amendment. ("4:00am-5:00am")
