He also works at Freedom Press occasionally, and currently lives in Seven, on a farm outside Kinley. He also works at the Pacific Tower, working with several embassies. Iliko Volas is of mixed Lovian and Pacific (primarily Polynesian) descent. On his father's side, he is a quarter Lovian, an eighth Samoan and an eighth Tongan, and on his mother's side, he is a quarter Fijian, an eighth Vanuatuan and an eighth mixed Micronesian and Tuvaluan. He is an avid protester/activist, frequently organising protests, and was also a major attendee/organiser for the early 2012 Occupy Lovia protests. He grew up in a poor area, and has been through the Lovian justice system several times: in 1985 and 1987 he was arrested for shoplifting, in 1990 he was arrested for disturbing the public order, in 1998 he was arrested for beating a man and jailed for six months despite the fact the man had been trying to rob his house, and, most recently, he was arrested in 2007 for disobeying a police officer during a protest. He has spent several years living in Fiji, his mother's homeland, during the nineties, and he has also spent shorter periods living in Tonga, Tuvalu, Palau and Kiribati, getting in touch with leftist/environmentalist movements in all those countries (he has also been in contact with leftist groups in Fiji, Vanuatu, Micronesia and Nauru to varying degrees).
