The 87th Regiment of Foot (Keith's Highlanders) was a Scottish infantry regiment in the British Army, formed in 1759 and disbanded in 1763. The regiment was raised at Perth in August 1759 by regimenting three companies detached from the 42nd Foot, the Black Watch. The regiment was initially titled as Keith's Highlanders after its commander, Robert Murray Keith, and was numbered as the 87th Foot in 1760. The regiment returned to Scotland from the continent in late 1762, and was disbanded at Perth in July 1763.

  • The 87th Regiment of Foot (Keith's Highlanders) was a Scottish infantry regiment in the British Army, formed in 1759 and disbanded in 1763. The regiment was raised at Perth in August 1759 by regimenting three companies detached from the 42nd Foot, the Black Watch. The regiment was initially titled as Keith's Highlanders after its commander, Robert Murray Keith, and was numbered as the 87th Foot in 1760. The regiment was immediately dispatched to Germany, where it fought at Warburg and Villinghausen. A further five companies were raised at Perth in mid-1760, bringing the regiment up to a more conventional strength. The regiment returned to Scotland from the continent in late 1762, and was disbanded at Perth in July 1763.
