- The Galatea is a Light Freighter, replacing the dated Fortuna sailfreighter (from the days of the Castori OtherSpace Ring network) and Chandler (which replaced the pre-Kretonian Tramp-class) models as the light freighter of choice in the galaxy. Some Fortunas and Chandlers still ply the stars, but they are rare and, in the case of the Fortuna, must be heavily modified in order to travel at faster-than-light.
