Wenn man den Death Ball benutzt, kann man keine Bomben oder Power Bomben legen. Man kann auch nicht den Morphballmodus verlassen. In Metroid Prime: Hunters existiert eine ähnliche Version, das sogenannte "Alternativ Fatal", welches Wahrscheinlich aufgrund der zusätzlichen Jäger so benannt wurde, da die neuen Kopfgeldjäger keinen Morph Ball besitzen, sondern jeweils unterschiedliche alternative Formen.
