  • Sisyphus is a spirit in the Fields of Punishment.
  • Sisyphus was a female exile who was one of the Merovingian's personal assistants. After the Signature Manipulator was somehow rendered inoperable during a mission inside a Machine base, Flood tasked the player to send the damaged Signature Manipulator over to her. In Greek legend, Sisyphus wa s amale king who was punished for his deceit and wickedness by being compelled to eternally roll a boulder up a hill in Tartarus, part of the underworld. In the mythology Persephone supervised him.
  • Sisyphus is likely named after the species of dung beetle (aka scarab) of the same name. Scarabs are known for rolling large balls of feces and other material, similar to the punishment given to the Greek myth character of Sisyphus. In the Japanese version of the game, he is known as Musha Beetle. Musha is Japanese for "warrior", and it's likely also a pun on "mushi" (bug/insect) since the kana reads "むしゃ".
  • King Sisyphus of Corinth was a master of illusion and trickery. He was married to his queen, Karis.
  • Sisyphus is a Harry Potter fanfic by esama, in which Harry gets a second chance to relive his life after dying in the final showdown against Voldemort. Seeing his predicament as a blessing, he eagerly decides to make changes in order to save those he had loved and lost, but not all goes according to plan... Compare Oh God Not Again for another take on a Peggy Sue Deconstruction Fic. In fact, it may help after this one.
  • He tried to cheat death and escaped from the underworld
  • The word "sisyphean" means "endless and unavailing, as labor or a task".
  • Sisyphus was a character from the mythology of Ancient Greece on Earth. According to the myth, Sisyphus was cursed by the gods with the task of rolling a heavy boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll down again from the top, and to repeat this task throughout eternity. The term "Sisyphean" is used to describe any activity that is unending, repetitive, and/or pointless.
  • The Sisyphus is something of an albatross in the shipbuilding industry. Its hold is only marginally larger than that of the smaller (and cheaper) Calliope, while an investor serious about pulling freight can probably spring for a Paris. The Sisyphus has earned the most fame as a class for one of its kind, the SVD Noble Cause, which served as the personal transport of wealthy Sivadian Benjamin Meiffert.
