Mo Marsh (née Dowty) was the wife of Alfie Marsh, a worker at Hardcastle's Mill was in 1915 was given the tenancy of 1 Coronation Street. Alfie had been promoted to foreman at the mill in appreciation for not joining his fellow workers behind the picket lines in 1911.
