- Louis Allen "Lou" Rawls (December 1, 1933 - January 6, 2006) was an American singer, actor, and voice actor. Among his hit songs are "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine", "Love Is a Hurtin' Thing", "Lady Love", "Dead End Street", and "Your Good Thing (Is About to End)". Rawls was among the members of The Louisiana Gator Boys, a blues supergroup from The Blues Brothers 2000, along with B.B. King.

He was known for his smooth vocal style: Frank Sinatra once said that Rawls had "the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game". Rawls released more than 70 albums[citation needed], sold more than 40 million records[citation needed], appeared as an actor in motion pictures and on television, and voiced-over many cartoons.

Lou Rawls was seen singing the alphabet in the first season of Sesame Street and in several other animated series and films including Here Comes Garfield, The Proud Family, and The Rugrats Movie. - Lou Rawls (1933-2006) was an actor and R&B singer with a four-octave range. His notable hits from the 1970s include You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine and Lady Love. He was also the singing voice in the Garfield TV specials that aired on CBS during the 1980s and 1990s. Rawls sang the alphabet in an insert from Sesame Street Episode 0043. He was also the guest star on The Muppet Show episode 215, where he performed his hit "Groovy People." Rawls died of lung cancer on January 6, 2006.

In his school days he was friends with the soulsinger Sam Cooke, with whom in the 50 's in a gospel choir: Teenage Kings of Harmony sang. After his military service went Rawls singing at the Pilgrim Travelers group. During his tour he got a serious car accident in 1958 . He lay in coma after 5 1/2 day. In addition to singing, he also appeared as actor in a number of feature films, such as Leaving Las Vegas, Blues Brothers 2000 and Baywatch Nights.
