They are notable by their flattened, seemingly radially-oriented body, with an open, perhaps jawless gullet full of needle-like teeth along its underside. They are considered more of a nuisance than a serious threat. Those found on the BSL were all infected by the X Parasites, who "upgraded" their DNA, giving the Choot-Xs the ability to spit acidic globs as they plummet. As with all other species native to both Zebes and SR388, it became extinct in the wild when Samus Aran finally destroyed the evil Mother Brain or (presumably) when she later crashed the BSL into SR388. And while they were seen aboard the Biologic Space Laboratory Research Station as infected or versions mimicked by the X Parasite which had taken over, the BSL was destroyed in a similar manner to Zebes.
