Zena was an evolved ape that lived in Ape City in the mid 21st century. She was the wife of gorilla peace officer, Brutus. Zena discovered that her husband had become involved in a conspiracy of renegade apes whose goal was nothing less than complete control of Ape City. Fearing that she might expose his plot, Brutus remorselessly killed his wife in cold blood, and blamed the troublesome human Jason.
