Featured guests included Airto Moreira and Flora Purim (Return To Forever), and Jaco Pastorius Bud married Pattie. He left Pablo Cruise to work with her in creating their own album Cockrell & Santos. Bud, born James Ray Cockrell, was born in the Mississippi Delta where his father, Corbert Cockrell taught him to play the guitar and bass guitar. He really loved the bass guitar. He and his father played in many of the bars throughout the Mississippi Delta. His father had a great passion for his son and was very proud of him. Corbert's death was very hard on his son. Bud's mother Shugg Roncali and his sisters Dottie, Rita and Stephanie still live in the Mississippi Delta today. Bud was a true artist writing many of the songs he and his groups sang. He was known as the "Rock and Roller" but his heart was also deep into blues and country music. He expressed his heart and soul in all that he did as an entertainer and was well known for it. Bud's heart lead him back to his roots in the Mississippi Delta where he spent his remaining years on dialysis, where he died on March 6, 2010 due to complications with diabetes.
