Yin-Yarn is the antagonist of Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Wii. In the beginning of the game, Dream Land's residents are terrorized by the creature. He uses his evil powers to transform everyone he comes across into yarn. Upon stealing Yin-Yarn's Maxim Tomato, Kirby is sucked into Yin-Yarn's world via his teleporting sock. Kirby soon finds out that his entire body has been transformed into yarn and that the world in which he now abides is completely torn apart. With the assistance of Prince Fluff, a new friend, Kirby traversed the world, stitching it back together. At the end of his adventure he confronts and defeats Yin-Yarn. After Kirby defeats Yin-Yarn, Yin-Yarn's knitting needles create a more powerful robotic version of him called Mega Yin-Yarn.

- Yin-Yarn is entirely made out of yarn with the exception of his nose. His yarn appearance could be attributed to his origin from Patch Land, or because he transformed himself using his Metamato. Yin-Yarn's unnamed knitting needles have purple and yellow eyes, and (coincidentally) Yin-Yarn's possessed victims' eyes flash between yellow and purple. The needles are Yin-Yarn's apparent source of power, and they are later revealed to be independent of Yin-Yarn and have a mind of their own, and they could well be Yin-Yarn's creator and the true masterminds behind Yin-Yarn's actions.
- Though Yin-Yarn's non-combat based skills tend to be a bit lackluster, Yin-Yarn is still able to gather a fair amount of resources if need be. Yin-Yarn mainly focuses on Magic, due to finding it to be the most versatile when in combat. Melee-wise, he is also above average, though Yin-Yarn tends to stick with Magic regardless. Yin-Yarn sought to conquer the universe (or at the very least Patch Land and Dream Land) - wasting no time in manipulating and abusing others in order to do so, he was also a powerful sorcerer: which was how he was able to achieve so much chaos to begin with. In the end, Kirby fought Yin-Yarn and destroyed him. However, his knitting needles revived him as Mega Yin-Yarn. However, Meta Knight transformed Kirby into a Tankbot, who shot missiles at Mega Yin-Yarn and destroyed him for good before he and Prince Fluff threw the knitting needles into the distance.
