| - The Christian Democratic Party of the Luthori Republican Empire is a fiscally conservative and socially conservative party dating back to their first election in November of 2420. They are led by party leader John Kennedy, the great grandson of party leader Steven P Kennedy. Their ideology is a mix of Catholic and Orthodox Christian teachings and Libertarian economics. At the height of their power, the Christian Democratic Party held 29 seats out of 105 in 2457, and was head of state for five consecutive terms 2440-2469. In the 2469, Steven Kennedy died ending the party's career. The party was restarted by Kennedy's grandson Steven P Kennedy III in 2520. The party was instrumental in establishing a Republic for the Luthori Empire and abolishing the monarchy in 2561. The Party supporters enthusiastically fought the monarchist forces. Although they were defeated militarily they were successful politically in completely abolishing the monarchy's power. In 2567, John Kennedy became party chairman of the CDP. John Kennedy lost in the 2571 and 2575 elections against the Nationalist Party. In 2576, John Kennedy gave up his position as chairman to his cousin Steven P. Kennedy IV. Steven Kennedy successfully won the Head of State position in 2579 and was reelected in 2573. He narrowly lost to the Nationalist Party in 2576 in the second round. During his chairmanship, Steven Kennedy led the party to two Head of State elections and second place finishes in the Diet. Upon the assassination of Steven Kennedy, the Christian Democratic Party dissolved in Luthori. However, throughout the last decade the Kennedy family had expanded their influence to Aloria, Malivia, Deltaria, Hulstria, and Beiteynu. In 2587, the Christian Democratic Party moved to Deltaria and attempted to establish a Monarchy under Raeanne Gratta Kennedyin the hopes that her son, Steven P. Kennedy V would eventually become Czar. This however would not be the case as the bill to establish the Monarchy failed in June of 2588. In July of 2588, the Atreides Party, an ally of the Christian Democratic Party, became Head of State and swore loyalty to Empress Raeanne Kennedy. However, political oppposition and hostile mobs forced the Christian Democratic Party and the Atreides Party to resign their positions and move to Malivia. The Christian Democratic Party briefly existed in the Beiteynu to defend the marriage of Jackie Kennedy from annulment. In 2591, the Christian Democratic Party established itself as the Conservative Republican Party in Jelbania. The Christian Democratic Party under the leadership of Chris Smith consistently became the most powerful party in Jelbania and set the country's foreign and domestic agenda. In 2603, the Christian Democratic Party successfully established the Kennedy Monarchy in a nation that had been ruled by Republicanism for 500 years.
