- Jodie Mason is first seen giving birth to Beverly as her husband Harry stood beside her. She wanted to move away from Brooklyn, New York as quickly as possible due to high crime and violence at the time. In the same year the Power Rangers first arrived, they moved to Angel Grove believing it would be the best place to start over and be happy. As Beverly grew up, she was very much of a tomboy playing sports, video games and doing martial arts. Jodie tried to turn her daughter into a proper lady by putting her into ballet lessons, sewing class and watching romance movies. However, Beverly loved being what she was and her mother slowly started accepting it. When Beverly was 10, she gave birth to her second child. She always loved raising her two daughters and cared for them all the time. One day when Beverly got into a fight with a mean spirited racist bully, she was upset, but then softened up as she expressed pride for defending herself. When Beverly came out as bisexual to her parents, Jodie was quickly to support her. Jodie expressed disappointment at Beverly for joining the Army, but supported her choice due to the fact that it was for college purposes and not go to war. When the war came, she was taken to a safe zone along with the rest of the civilians. She constantly prayed to God for her daughter's safety, which eventually she survived.
