Kimball was born in Arizona and suffered from polio as a child. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Netherlands. Kimball also wrote an article on Henry Eyring and Harvey Fletcher published in Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought. Kimball has also published an indepth study on the 1978 Revelation on the priesthood received by his father. He has also written an article on the history of LDS Temple admissions standards. As a lawyer, Brother Kimball specialized in evidence law. He held the Ernest L. Wilkinson chair at the J. Reuben Clark Law School.
