This was where Sir Worton claimed to be the heir of Nicolas Gryphonheart by seemingly drawing the Gryphonheart blade from its scabbard. To discover the truth about Worton's ancentry, Lysander traveled to seek counsel with the Oracle of the Dawn, leaving Sir Daymarc in charge of Palaedra. In his absence, Sir Worton took control of the nation, imprisoning Sir Daymarc and declaring himself King. When Lysander returned, he sent his squire Milton to deliver a letter to Worton from his real parents, Sir Kentaine and Lady Desette, but when Worton learned who it was from, he tore up the letter and threw Milton in the dungeon. When Lysander reached the town, he freed the prisoners and deposed Worton's corrupt underlings, like the current seneschal. After capturing Worton, he made Milton the new seneschal of Paledon.
