The Morihono's Cipher Scrolls were created in the 8th century by the Master of Air Isawa Morihono. He was a prime practitioner of the infighting that plagued the Phoenix Clan among the Isawa and Asako family. Morihono dedicated his time to the task of learning the Asako's cipher and attempted to develop magical aids to assist him in doing so. He never achieved his goal, but created these "cipher scrolls" that could translate anything laid on top of them. The Isawa quietly destroyed any trace of his research and left the scrolls hidden in the Temple of Jurojin in Gisei Toshi. The scrolls did not work on anything written in the Asako cipher, though they worked on most anything else.
