TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Communication Handicapped Children) is an intervention developed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. TEACCH provides training and services geared to helping autistic children and their families cope with the condition. TEACCH program generally begins with ascertaining a Psycho Educational Profile of the child's abilities before finalizing and deciding an individualized education program for that particular child. The program is focussed to improve the communications skills and autonomy. As the child progresses, modifications and additions are made to suit the child' progress.
