  • On certain Feats, if the character has an "Average" in the associated Ability and his/her profession is able to give some sort of bonus, the Host may prorate the difficulty of the task or the Ability rank as the Host sees fit. For example, a Riding Feat of charging into battle on horseback as a former Veteran Soldier may give the Host reason to raise the Average Riding ability of the character to Good, because as a Veteran Soldier, he would have some past experience in military charges.

  • Profession is not included in NWN2. In D&D, it is used as a way of training in a professional role such as cook, farmer, stablehand, porter and suchlike. It could feasably be added through custom content and have module based skill checks to use (although there would be a lot of "Profession: XXX" skills for each job). The main use of the skill is to make gold off a profession check, although it can take weeks of time, thus is not too suitable unless scripted properly for a real-time game.

  • A profession is a set of trade-oriented skills that players may use to gather, create, or enhance items. There are two categories of professions. The first is primary; the second, secondary. There is another subcategory that acts like a profession, but it isn't listed in either of the before mentioned categories. You learn professions by skill trainers that teach the craft.
  • A profession in Anarchy Online is chosen by the player at the time of a character's creation. There are twelve professions in Anarchy Online. A character's profession is one of his or her most defining attributes, as it determines the character's access to nanos, potential with skills, and other benefits.
  • Like Craft, Knowledge, and Perform, Profession is actually a number of separate skills. You could have several Profession skills, each with its own ranks, each purchased as a separate skill. While a Craft skill represents ability in creating or making an item, a Profession skill represents an aptitude in a vocation requiring a broader range of less specific knowledge.
  • Professions are roles your character can receive from Clan Members which allow Gathering or Crafting of a large variety of items. A player can have all the Professions, but it is up to them to decide which to make a priority to level. • A profession is a set of skills and gear that define your character's abilities. All player characters in the game have the choice between six professions, each of them divided in two specialities. A character has access to all skills of its base profession plus its speciality skills. A player's choice of professions does limit the types of gear and other items that character can equip. Any profession has access to two specialities, which means there are a total of 12 possible way to create a character.
  • A profession may refer to the type of gameplay-style a player tends to, a type of NPC, or a prestige class.
  • There are a total of nine primary professions a player may choose from. There are seven combat professions, four crafting professions and one entertainer profession. In addition to a main profession, there are four auxiliary professions that characters of any profession may pursue: Pilot, Politician, Beast Master and Chronicle Master. Each profession has an expertise system that allows them to extend the fuctionality and/or performance of their respectvie professions while allowing the player to create a unique skill template and play style.
  • Specific trade skills within a profession allow you to do specific things — craft a specific item or add a specific enhancement. These are learned from the profession trainers, from recipes, or occasionally directly from a quest trainer. Each profession starts out with a few specific trade skills. There are nine broad proficiency levels (four without any expansion, 5 with , 6 with , 7 with , 8 with , 9 with ) that constrain how much skill you can currently acquire within your professions.
  • Sims can find a profession from newspaper and computer but some professions can be found in other ways. Sims can go to the fire station to work as a Firefighter, the salon or ask a stylist to work in the Stylist profession, the city hall to work as an Architectural Designer, the science lab to work in the Ghost Hunter profession, the police station to work in the Investigator profession, or ask a proprietor to work in performer professions. The only way to be employed in Daycare is from the newspaper or computer.
  • A profession is a craft or tradeskill that player characters may learn regardless of their character class, faction, or race. The first recipes you get are useful for gearing up low level characters (assuming a higher level character is not helping to support you). Some contend that as soon as you start running instances, the drops will usually be better than most crafted items from the same level, but this is not always the case. Quite often crafted items will provide comparable stats or utility benefits that are quite useful for characters of all levels.
  • A profession is a large trade-oriented set of skills that player characters may incrementally learn in order to gather, make, or enhance items that can be used in World of Warcraft gameplay. Professions are learned from a trainer (or sometimes from a book at higher levels), for a cost. Professions can be learned regardless of their character faction, race, or class (although there are a few class skills that are just like a profession.)
