  • Minghao Xu (徐明昊), born 1983 in Beijing, China and grew up in Germany. He studied Art History and Philosophy at Aachen University (RWTH Aachen) and continued to study "Visual Communications" at the Academy of Arts in Maastricht (ABKM). He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Video/Film. An early encounter with Harmonic Singing and a particular fascination for sound instruments (monochord, singing bowls etc.) have had great influences on Minghao’s development. The main focus of his artistic work are the "Patterns of Creation”. "Patterns of Creation" include fractals, harmonics and sacred geometry. The exploration and examination of these patterns have resulted in the Void Visuals project. In 2009 Minghao Xu produced his first documentary film “Space, Sound, Voice” (orig. German “Raum Klang Stimme”) on overtone singing. He produced a second instruction film on a overtone workshop with Wolfgang Saus in the same year. His documentary on overtone singing and the overtone workshop have been published by the "Traumzeit Verlag" in Germany. Minghao Xu's documentary “Space, Sound, Voice” subsequently received a nomination for the Cosmic Cine Filmfestival 2011. In 2011 during his exhibition at the Art District 798 in Beijing, China, Minghao Xu received the Certificate of Recognition by the State of California, US, for his outstanding achievements and contribution to the Film and Television Industry.
