It was not her hope that such things would occur and when the feuding reached an apex, she began seriously weighing her options. The two most prestigious proposals came from her most avid pursuers, who had been childhood nemeses on account of their families. Aemeric of House Mecetti and Cesare of House Pelagia, both extremely wealthy men by their own right. She agreed to let them both court her under the assumption that it would be done simultaneously, but kept separate. Eventually, extenuating circumstances led to Arabelle's immediate union with Aemeric and a number of rumors began to circulate concerning Cesare's inabilities to woo. Little time had passed since their marriage and Cesare found a different Tapani beauty to take as his bride. Still, he inwardly seethed with rage from his defeat. Even as he raised his own children, he watched as happiness continued to blossom between his worst enemy and the woman that should have been his. The years had turned him into a bitter man and he eventually turned to a taboo solution to his loathing. On the night of Vyletta Sylvana's sixteenth birthday, an assassin infiltrated the Sylvana household on Procopia and violently murdered Aemeric's wife. Thus was born a new feud that would thrive even into present day.
