Her fall caused him to fall into a downward spiral of pain and misery, leading to his death and resurrection at the hands of Arthas Menethil during the Battle for the Sunwell. For some time, he served as a close personal Champion to the King, given power and rank within the Scourge forces swiftly. Tasked with the razing of Zul'drak, and given command over the necropolis Zeramas, Arka'lthon would carry out the Lich King's will for some time before being sent to aide in the creation and running of Acherus, the Ebon Hold. During his time at the Ebon Hold, he would be freed from the grasp of the Lich King like the other Death Knight's present. Many months spent attempting to atone for the damage he caused would see Arka'lthon to being present for, and on the leading causes to, Arthas' death.
