The 2008 Dollar General 300 was a Nationwide Series event held at Chicagoland Speedway on July 11, 2008. Joe Gibbs Racing won yet again, and this time it was phenom Kyle Busch behind the wheel, leading half of the race and pulling to a 3.12 second victory on Denny Hamlin. Toyotas took four of the top-five slots. After the race, NASCAR took engines for testing, hoping to find a way to slow the Toyota engine package. Points leader Clint Bowyer had a quiet night as he finished 7th, still 183 markers up on Brian Keselowski (3rd).
