Originally the Plymouth Valiant based Duster, when Dodge was going to get their own version. They were originally going to call it the 'Beaver', but when the marketing department found out that beaver was C.B. slang for something inappropriate and not at all car related, Dodge went with the name Demon. The Demon name was only used in '71-'72, some did not like the connotation of the word Demon. In '73 the Demon was renamed the Dodge Dart Sport 340 and then the Dart Sport 360 where it stayed until the end of '76 when the Demon/Dart line ended.
