The Stockbridge's were a prominent family in Collinsport, especially in the 18th century. Stockbridge's of note include: * U. Spencer Stockbridge (1687-1780) * P. Agthorn Stockbridge (1713-1731) * L. Murdoch Stockbridge (1735-1767) * F. Pendleton Stockbridge (1801-1817) First names didn't mean much to the Stockbridge's, it was the last name of Stockbridge that meant the most. Their middle name came from the families that marriage into the Stockbridge line. They wanted to preserve the bloodline.
