| - The Shinsusen (迅速綫) is a network of high-speed railway lines in Surea operated by two Surea Railways Group companies. Starting with the 240 km/h Beikaido Shinsusen in 1984, the now 2,689km long network has expanded to link most major cities on the islands of Honpura and Gisu at speeds up to 300km/h. Test runs have reached 440km/h for conventional rail in 2004. Shinsusen literally means "High Speed Line", referring to the tracks, but the name is widely used inside and outside Surea to refer to the trains as well as the system as a whole. The Geidu Shinsusen is the world's 2nd busiest high-speed rail line. Carrying 146 million passengers a year (March 2006), it has transported more passengers (over 5 billion) than any other high speed line in the world. Between Konggei and Hondu, the two largest metropolises in Surea, ten trains per hour with 16 cars each (1,300 seats capacity) run in each direction with minimum 5 minutes frequency. Though largely a long-distance transport system, the Shinsusen also serves commuters who travel to work in metropolitan areas from outlying cities. The trains are manufactured by Eastern Motors Ltd, a joint venture between Chisunada Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Nippon Sharyo, and all of the preliminary 30 consists were built in Japan and Surea. * Kenshi Shinsusen Shinsusen ticket types are divided into 3: Unreserved normal ticket, reserved normal ticket, and reserved first class ticket. Unreserved normal ticket are the cheapest and acts like normal train service ticket. Commuters might ended up standing for the whole travel if there are too many who travel on that particular train. Reserved normal tickets and reserved first class tickets ensured the commuters that their seat is reserved. First class ticket holders enjoys some extra services such as on train entertainment. Shinsusen tickets fare varies between lines and distance of travel. The price for Geidu Shinsusen travelling from Konggei to Hondu cost 10800 yun (unreserved normal ticket), 15800 yun (reserved normal ticket), and 18850 yun (reserved first class ticket). Shinsusen tickets can be bought from travel agencies, Shinsusen ticket office, or Shinsusen ticket vending machine located in all Shinsusen stations. Since 2006, tickets can be purchased online. Tickets purchase online will be had a barcode sent to the purchaser's smartphone to be scanned in the entrance. On board meals and other services can also be pre-purchase online.
