| - The Baron Tiorted III was a Light Republic Freighter during the Old Republic Era. Built around 4,080 BBY, “The Baron,” as it was called by its crews, began life as an upper-class luxury transport for a royal family on Csilla. One of several, The Baron was named after the patriarch of the first noble family to own it, Baron Tiorted Nagih’cim III. The Aristocrat outfitted class ships were only in commission under their aristocratic owners for 10 years when they were sold for bigger and better transports. A majority of the ships were destroyed or dismantled. The only ones to retain their freighter status and continue to run were Baron Tiorted III and Duke Rolyat, aptly named “The Baron” and “The Duke,” respectively, by their subsequent owners.

Knowledge of The Duke after its conversion is unknown but it is known that the Baron was bought by a Squalris trader, Zeechh, and his Kobok first mate, Ub. The Baron’s initial chrome and high-polish copper plating was replaced with blue and silver painted discount steel and its luxury appointments were removed and replaced with plastic or nothing at all, readying it for cargo duties. Currently, the ship's interior is a hodgepodge of different materials and devices; its color is now more of an orange and brown combination after years of neglect and rust. After less than a year of service, Captain Zeechh lost The Baron to a trader named Yosaff of unknown species in a game of Pazaak in 4,069 BBY. Zeechh was astonished by Yosaff’s knowledge of the game and extremely good luck, to the point of outlandish suspicion of cheating. Furious, Zeechh threatened Yosaff’s life but Yosaff escaped without harm but with his new prize. After picking up two crew members over a span of thirty or so years, The Baron was left to one of Yosaff’s protégé’s, Tiorted, after his death. The current captain, Tiorted, has a special connection with The Baron, seeing as he was named after it.
