Post-Eruption many nations collapsed, dissolved, and died, and in many of places where these nations used to be are what is commonly referred to as a Wild West. Wild Wests are simply regions in which there is a weak or no central governmant and usually a frontier or a sparsly-populated region. There is currently a "Wild West" in Central Asia being colonized by Uzbekistan and the HRE, and one in the Sonora Desert in the former USA and parts of Mexico, currently being claimed and colonized by California Major, Mexico, and many city-states and tribes.
