| - Citizen’s Hose Company #1 of Glassport, PA was organized March 22, 1901. For some reason there are very few records from the early 1900’s. CHC #1 has been a long time member of the Western PA Fireman’s Association, since at least 1904. We also belong to the State of PA Fireman’s Association, Allegheny County Firefighters Association, Southwestern PA Chief Association, and the Mon-Yough Fire Defense Council. We protect the 5,000 plus Citizens of the Borough of Glassport, Allegheny County, PA. Our motto is "Always There". We are very proud of this motto and we display on all of our apparatus.

We operate out of one station at 523-525 Allegheny Avenue, Glassport. We currently have the following equipment: 1952 Mack 750 pumper; 1970 Mack CF600, 1000gpm pumper, refurbished 1991 with an enclosed crew cab; we also have a 1995 Ford 4-door pick up truck that we use as our Squad. Finally, our most used apparatus is our 1987, 75 ft. Pierce Tele-Squirt which houses our thermal imaging camera. The Pierce Tele-Squirt serves as Truck-161 and responds to mutual aid calls. www.glassport161.org
