Ohalu was a male Bajoran who lived in approximately 30,000 BC. Ohalu was contacted by the Prophets, but was considered a madman and a heretic by the religious authorities, for he claimed the Prophets were not gods, but a benevolent alien race: teachers who had a symbiotic relationship with the Bajorans, learning as much from them as the Bajorans did from the Prophets.

abstract
  • Ohalu was a male Bajoran who lived in approximately 30,000 BC. To prove his claims, Ohalu wrote a set of prophecies which foretold events from throughout what would become Bajoran history, up until the birth of the "Infant Avatar", whom he believed would herald a new age of awareness and understanding for the Bajoran people. Ohalu convinced a small group of his claims; after his death, this group, the Ohalavaru, protected his prophecies. It took thirty-two millennia, but eventually all of Ohalu's prophecies were fulfilled. (DS9 novel: Avatar, Book Two) In 2380, Rebecca Jae Sisko was kidnapped by a mentally unstable Ohalu follower. Jasmine Tey was instrumental in Rebecca's rescue. (ST - Typhon Pact novels: Plagues of Night, Raise the Dawn, ST - The Fall novel: Revelation and Dust)
