The U.K. Department of Trade and Industry was a government department that was replaced with the announcement of the creation of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills on June 28, 2007. In 2009, these two departments were merged into the the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
