Perdition is a small mining community located in the Appalachian hills of Pennsylvania. In 1904 Abraham Monroe found a mystical spell book written by his ancestor Malcomb Monroe titled Visions of a Dead Priest. Invoking the book's magic, Abraham opened a doorway that enabled the alien entity M'nagalah access to this world. M'nagalah took up residence in a mine shaft known as Tunnel 13 and began a seventy-plus year reign of terror upon the town.

  • At the heart of this dense swamp lies an area of evil that perverts nature into wicked monsters, dire, voracious animals, and twisted, dangerous fauna. This area is now known as the Perdition by sages, the Haunted Swamp by locals, and Deadmire by nearby nations. Travelers on foot can wade through the Perdition at the rate of 4 miles in a day. By punting on a bateau boat, it is possible to move 11 miles per day, presuming 16 hours of travel and 8 hours of sleep. Rangers and druids know little of the Perdition, so they are of little help for navigation purposes.
  • In combat, he gains increased damage, and retains his usual abilities (except summoning minions): * Blade Strike - basic melee attack, hits for average Physical damage. * Teleport Charge - can hit any player not within melee range (even within a few yards), making this guardian very dangerous to ranged characters. Teleports towards the player, inflicting a heavy Physical damage blow (enough to one-shot a poorly armored hero). If it backstabs (i.e the target was not facing Perdition at the time of Charge), target is killed outright (technically, damage is increased to values beyond reasonable survivability), but abilities that are guaranteed to absorb an attack rather than damage can prevent this (for example, Wizard's Ancient Guardian Familiar at low health).
