For the first time, Michelangelo Hamato feels unsettled over the success over his latest bestseller book, adapted almost verbatim from years of his own journal entries. Casey Jones and April O'Neil finally make their first appearance, having just returned from their long second honeymoon, and are stunned to learn of the existence of the new mutant turtle Renoir who has come into their lives while they were away. Renoir is easily able to convince the Joneses that he is their daughter Shadow's friend Augustus Amherst now in a turtle body, but they caution him he may never easily be able to convince his parents the Amhersts. April invites Raphael and Renoir to the Jones-Hamato family's annual Christmas party at their apartment, hoping for reconciliation not only between brothers Mikey and Rap
