Radu Sandu Victor Căpîlnăşiu (born March 25, 1961) is a politician from Romania. He has served as the mayor of the Municipality of Zalău) since 2004. The city of Zalău is the seat of Sălaj County (there are 41 county capitals in Romania). In the 1980s, Radu Căpîlnăşiu played for Universitatea Cluj handball team.

The city of Zalău is the seat of Sălaj County (there are 41 county capitals in Romania). In the 1980s, Radu Căpîlnăşiu played for Universitatea Cluj handball team. Căpîlnăşiu joined the Democratic Party in 1997. After 2000 local election he served as a deputy mayor (2000-2004) and in 2004 he was elected as the mayor for the first time. In 2008, Căpîlnăşiu was expelled from the Democratic Party and became a member of the National Liberal Party (Romania). The Mayor Radu Căpîlnăşiu was elected for the first time in 2004 as member of the Democratic Party and re-elected in 2008 and 2012 as a member of the National Liberal Party. He is the president of the Sălaj branch of the National Liberal Party and co-president of the Sălaj branch of the Social Liberal Union.
