The Croc Pot can combine two of the same type of combat item (two shirts, two pistols, etc.); it will not combine non-combat items such as accessories or vehicles. The Croc Pot menu has two boxes to place items in. The top box serves as the new item's "Style," which dictates its appearance. The bottom box serves as the "Stat," determining the stats of the new item. The item used for Style must match the player's gender. Any item can be used in Stat with the exception of guide items, which can only be used in Style. The Stat item can be either higher or lower in lev el than the Style item.

Depending on the difference in level between the two items, the player will be given a 1 to 5 rating for the possible success of the combination, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. The probabilty for success is dependent upon a number of factors, including the rarity of the item being combined and their differance in levels. If the combination fails, the player's items are returned. The taros spent, however, are not. Once two items are successfully combined, the new item is marked with a small "C" cauldron in the bottom right corner. A combined item has its rarity changed to "Special," its sell value reduced to zero, and becomes untradable. Combined items can be combined with other items in the Croc Pot, as long as the conditions are met.
