John Smrke (born February 25, 1956 in Chicoutimi, Quebec) is a retired professional ice hockey player who played 103 games in the National Hockey League. He played with the St. Louis Blues and Quebec Nordiques. His father was former NHLer Stan Smrke. He spent many years living in Rochester, New York while his father played for the Rochester Americans. John played for the junior Toronto Marlboros and won the Memorial Cup in 1975. He was drafted 25th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft.

He played with the St. Louis Blues and Quebec Nordiques. His father was former NHLer Stan Smrke. He spent many years living in Rochester, New York while his father played for the Rochester Americans. John played for the junior Toronto Marlboros and won the Memorial Cup in 1975. He was drafted 25th overall by the St. Louis Blues in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft. He turned pro in 1976 and spilt several seasons between the Blues and the minor pros. He was then drafted by the Quebec Nordiques in the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft, After failing to make the Nordiques and spending some more time in the minors, Smrke left for Europe in 1982, He spent three years in Italy and then played one year for the senior Campbellton Tigers. Smrke retired in 1986. He played in a total of 103 NHL games, scoring 11 goals and 17 assists.
