The Eight Conscious Directions Seal (八識方封印 Hasshikipō Fūin) is a Fūinjutsu devised by Samiya of Sunagakure. The use of this technique revolves primarily around the sealing of entities, or chakra-based constructs that hold an enormous reservoir of chakra - for example, a Tailed Beast. Samiya initiates the technique by using a number of hand seals. Upon completion, a technique formula appears within Samiya's right palm. Herein, Samiya is capable of executing the said technique and produce its effects. The seal itself, however, takes the form of a unique design: four long arrows going in the four cardinal directions, and four subsequent arrows going into their sub-directions.

The technique initializes once Samiya is capable of placing the said sealing formula onto her desired target. In this regard, Samiya generally finds the technique impractical unless she allows Tenji, of her entourage, to perform it on her behalf. Once the sealing formula makes contact, it begins to immediately absorb chakra from the victim of the seal. In turn, this allows the seal to grow stronger and larger, therefore surrounding the victim and procuring its desired effects. The seal itself utilizes its arrows as a medium to direct any chakra pouring out of the victim, therefore making it extremely difficult for an enemy to negate the seal, as any chakra used it immediately transferred. While this is the complete function of the technique alone; by using Samiya's prowess in conventional sealing techniques, she is capable of using the weakened entity and seal them with numerous sealing tags and the like, making it a highly effective method of capture once initiated.
