Kolsvein was born within the small Tegrushkin settlement Lej Kaldahk. He was born to a low-Drakonian slave woman and a Tegrushkin mercenary leader. His mother had begged Jordov to allow him to live, but the commander had said "The violet eyed bastard means little to nothing to me. Throw it in the snow.". To which he indeed did. Young Kolsvein was taken out a mile in the snow to die, yet after an hour, a hunter woman named Sigurda had found the babe after hearing cries throughout the woods. She did take the young babe in arms and had seen he had seen his violet eyes, this interested her as she's never seen this in another human other then the Drakonian population far south.

She did teach the boy to hunt, to fish, gather, and most importantly of all, war. Sigurda herself was a war-wife once and had learned things from her past husband, though she was already too old to bear children when she found Kolsvein, so she never remarried and had to teach the boy herself. Yet the lad grew, and he grew tall and strong. At the end of his teenage life, Kolsvein reached a height of six feet seven inches and had a weight of three hundred pounds. He was a monstrosity within battle, yet he could use his wit when need be, though he'd prefer to beat someones face in rather then be diplomatic.
