The Shatterspear tribe split off from the Gurubashi Empire after the defeat of Hakkar the Soulflayer. The various tribes claimed territories in the vast jungles of Stranglethorn Vale but quickly began fighting one another. The trolls' purpose in living here is unknown at this point in time. Certainly it is a strange location for any troll to choose to live: surrounded by mountains and, beyond that, the trolls' ancient enemies: night elves. which may lead us to believe that the Tribe was not likely meant to have deep lore behind it especially since none exists.

- The Shatterspear Tribe was founded by a lost Shatterspear Troll, seeking to find others of his tribe or those friendly to it. The tribe is oriented to the hope of one day finding peace between all cultures, races, and factions. That being said, the Tribe only accepts other trolls into their ranks to one day feast in the secluded village of their home.

Members of the forming Sobadji Tribe approached the huntress Zazja, requesting the support of the Shatterspear Tribe in their efforts to unify the different troll races and restore the old ways of the trolls, including the Troll Empire. The Shatterspear Tribe remains friendly with all races, but is first and foremost dedicated to peace among their people.
- The Shatterspear tribe split off from the Gurubashi Empire after the defeat of Hakkar the Soulflayer. The various tribes claimed territories in the vast jungles of Stranglethorn Vale but quickly began fighting one another. The Shatterspear tribe has since settled at the northeast edge of Darkshore, a continent away from Stranglethorn. Highly reclusive and apparently uninterested in claiming further territory, the Shatterspear trolls live in a small village that is almost entirely surrounded by jagged hills. Visiting the secluded village is a difficult endeavor, and a number of adventurers have fallen to their deaths in attempting to scale the steep hills around the Shatterspears' home.
