| - While a tournament is ongoing, if a player participates by playing in the mode required (and in an aircraft required, for certain tournaments), the player will earn Ranking Points depending on their personal performance, the performance of their team, and the Clear Rank of the match in general (the latter only applying for Online Co-Op Missions). A leaderboard will be generated and auto-updated, where players are sorted from highest Ranking Points to lowest. In any events of a tie, the player who earned the points first will be ranked higher.

During weekends of Forced Sortie, players using multiple fuel will get the respective number of Ranking Points (2x for 2 fuel, 3x for 3 fuel, and so on). A common misconception is that Ranking Points receive the same multiplier as credits or research, which is not the case; no bonus Ranking Points are awarded for using multiple fuel. After the end of a tournament, there will be a 16-hour period where the results are finalized, followed by players earning rewards depending on their positions in the tournament. Typically, rewards are given for players who place within the top 20, top 200, top 1,000, top 3,000, top 5,000, top 10,000, and top 100,000, but other irregular reward tiers have also existed. Rewards are handed out through the in-game notification system; players have 60 days following the tournament's end date to accept the rewards, after which the notification will no longer be displayed.
