Unlike the 1961 Little Golden Book adaptation, this book begins at the scene with Cruella attempting to buy the Dalmatian Puppies, who have already grown their spots when she shows up. As such, this book skips over the film's opening sequence in the park. Also of note, one illustration of Pongo and Perdita in this book is re-inked from one of the illustrations used in the 1961 book.
