One may take a standard approach and hire a professional. Or one may, if the tree is not too large, cut it down at the base carefully, cut it up into smaller pieces once felled, then apply stump rot to the remaining stump. Mimosa is a genus of plants with over 400 species. Googling "mimosa tree" resulted in hits which state that mimosa trees have short life spans, so one could simply wait for the tree to die naturally and make efforts to remove seedlings while they're young and weak. Assuming you're referring to Mimosa tenuflora, its wikipedia article may be found here.

If it`s just a sapling, pull it up, preferably with its roots still attached. If it`s larger you may want to apply herbicides to it and/or chop it down. Even after chopped down it may sprout new leaves, so you may have to kill the stump with either stump killing chemicals or with more natural methods.
