  • The Kavrot sector was a frontier region which lay just beyond charted Klingon space, away from any other known galactic powers. In Federation stellar cartography, it was known as Sector 798-C. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation) In 2376, after the Dominion War, Chancellor Martok charged the ships of the new Chancellor-class to fully chart and explore the sector for new resources for the Empire. General Talak commanded the Klingon fleet assigned to the Kavrot sector aboard the Vor'cha-class cruiser, IKS Akua. (KE novel: A Good Day to Die) Kavrot had relatively few intelligent species, and those tended to be technologically backward. Of the four species known to be native to the sector, at least two (Brenlek and San-Tarah) were not spacefaring when discovered, and the Elabrej Hegemony had never encountered any intelligent species in their history. There is some evidence of more advanced activity, however. Subspace eddies around San-Tarah indicate a battle fought using subspace weaponry some centuries in the past, but the combatants were not native to the world and remain unidentified. In 2380 the Klingons permitted Remans to found a colony on uninhabited Klorgat IV. (TNG video game: Star Trek: Klingon Empire; novel series, ST novel: Articles of the Federation) In 2381, the USS Titan passed through the Kavrot sector, en route to the uncharted Canis Major region. (TTN novel: Over a Torrent Sea)
