- Windrunners are dragonfly-like Mimics that fly horizontally from side to side. They can be found in NG Co-op Trailblazing or during the Mimicology Quest "Windrunner Study" (CY0050).
- Many consider the Windrunner family as the most tragic family in Warcraft lore. Several members of the family were killed by the orcs during the Second War, including the sisters' parents, their youngest brother Lirath, along with numerous relatives of varying proximity. This prompted Alleria to join the Alliance Expedition in order to avenge them, which she later disappeared with. The rest of the family was one of the hardest hit by the Scourge invasion into Quel'Thalas. Sylvanas was killed by Arthas and raised as a banshee in his service, later becoming Banshee Queen of the Forsaken. The sisters' grandfather had to battle his own son, their uncle, after he was turned into an undead. - Windrunner is a silver wolf and companion to Morghrim, the Forest Master of Serpent Isle in Ultima VII Part Two. Windrunner, despite not being able to talk, has a greater degree of intelligence than most of his brethren, and may be the last surviving example of the lupine species from the world of Pagan. He appears as a large silver-coloured timber wolf, and can be found roaming the area around Morghrim's abode in the Northern Forest. As he has no dialogue and talking to Morghrim will not set his name, he is simply identified as "timber wolf" in the game.

- Windrunner is a silver wolf and companion to Morghrim, the Forest Master of Serpent Isle in Ultima VII Part Two. Windrunner, despite not being able to talk, has a greater degree of intelligence than most of his brethren, and may be the last surviving example of the lupine species from the world of Pagan. He was transported to Serpent Isle by Morghrim when the Forest Master rescued a Silver Seed from dying Elerion at the time of the Guardian's invasion of Pagan. Despite this change of surroundings, Windrunner seems to be to at home in the Northern Forest of Serpent Isle, and protects his master with utmost loyalty. He appears as a large silver-coloured timber wolf, and can be found roaming the area around Morghrim's abode in the Northern Forest.
