Padraic Rhys was a Human male, of Welsh decent, serving in Starfleet in the late 24th century. By 2381, Rhys was an ensign serving as gamma shift tactical officer aboard the USS Aventine. During the Borg Invasion of 2381, the Aventine scouted a number of subspace tunnels emanating from the Azure Nebula. One such tunnel deposited the ship into part of the Delta Quadrant, where Rhys detected a debris field of nearly identical material, but no short-range subspace communication or transwarp signatures. When the Aventine was contacted by the alien presence calling itself the Children of the Storm, Rhys patched in an exobiologist, Lucy D'Odorico for Sam Bowers. Later, when Hirogen hunting vessels attacked the Aventine, Rhys was killed when an auxiliary tactical station on the bridge exploded. (
